Accessibility

Our commitment

VelvtVIP is committed to making our website and mobile app usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology like screen readers. We're working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as an ongoing target, not a one-time checkbox.

What we've done

  • Screen-reader labels on interactive elements across the core patron flows in the mobile app -- venue browsing, favoriting, pass display, and account management.
  • Meaningful labels on QR code images (what they are and what to do with them), not silent or generic image announcements.
  • Semantic, keyboard-navigable markup on the website.

Known limitations

Purchasing a pass opens an embedded checkout view of our website inside the app -- its accessibility depends on the website's own markup, which we're continuing to improve. Scanning a pass QR code at the door (staff-facing, not a patron feature) is a camera-based interaction that isn't currently usable with a screen reader; a non-visual fallback for door staff is on our roadmap.
